Halloween Gnome's

For any one who doesn't know, my hubby is very creative and crafty too. This past summer he and Hayley were joking about being Gnomes for Halloween.

Two weeks before Halloween and he started designing and making these costumes. Yup, that's right, no pattern, nothin'. He went to the material store by himself, picked all the fabrics, by himself.

And sewed these by himself. I'm so proud of him. Hayley was over the moon and played the role of gnome very well.

They were a smash hit at very house they visited.

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #88

I haven't done one of these challenges in awhile. Geez, you'd think I was workin' or something!?!? Another night of using new stuffs. I found this great DCWV paper pack. 70%RECYCLED PAPER!!! The Green Stack (at Chapters). It just turns out it goes great with TPC Studio "Woodland Whimsy" clear stamps!! I had to check twice, to make sure they were two different company's.

I used some scrap's from the draw and SU's Riding hood red, LOVE IT ink! I outlined some of the stamped image with a "atyouSpica" Red pen. Some bling and voila!! A birthday Card!!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18

Howdy, I've been really busy and itchin' to get into my craft room. I decided I want to use ALL of my stamps which have not been used yet. (Yah, we'll see how that goes) I did need a sympathy card and have been wanting to use this SU set for awhile "Thoughts & Prayers" I also used for the first time CTMH's Adhesive backed Twill.

I used SU's Kraft and chocolate chip card stock. The ink's were anything I could find that would match the colors in the challenge, which showed me, "I don't have alot of markers!" at least not in the colors I need, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, what will I do??

Happy Thanksgiving (Canada)! Hubby's whole crew from Kitchener came in this weekend and it was Melinda's Birthday. I made this card using this weeks CPS. The only thing is that I forgot to give it to her. There was just so much going on. So it'll make it's way to the mail. Sorry Melinda. Happy Birthday!

I used Papertrey Ink's "Everyday Button Bits" and things I had right in front of me on my desk!!!

Three posts in one night! I've been running at night more and it's keeping me out the craft room.

I made these cards for my niece and nephews birthday this past weekend. "A Child's Year" from Cricut is my new favorite cartridge!! Sooooo many silhouettes!

I flipped the boy image so mom could pose them like book ends.

AND this is the desert I brought. If you are looking for an amazing! easy! desert this is it. It's from Bakerella's blog. It was a smash hit.

I made this card for Mary. I used Lauren Meaders color challenge. I had no idea what kind of card to make for someone who quit their job. She gave her two week notice and now she's gone and the place is not the same since she left. You'll be missed Mary.

I used SU's Pendant park stamp set with masking technique. I love this stamp set.

This post has been sitting in my edit file for about two weeks. It's been crazy here with back to school back to work, soccer finishing, hockey starting.... yada, yada, yada!!

Below is my first attempt at a craft video, I was strapped for time and by myself, this is me attempt.

Talk about pressure. I've learned alot of what I know about card making from Ceecee. Her husband asked me to make the card. NO PRESSURE. I had no idea what I was going to make, just that he was taking her to Hawaii for a surprise!!!

I can't take credit for the design. I was surfin' some of my fav blogs and came across Andrea Walfard's blog. She was showing her Christmas Jingle Tri-Shutter album. I thought what a great idea for a card. Unfortunately she did not offer just the bass as an option (or I would have bought it and saved tons of time) she offered the whole kit.

Here are some views. I had some Heidi Swap rub'on s left over from a previous project and they came in great for this card.

The whole card. It was hugh.

Closed. I used Circut's "Life is a Beach" cartridge.

Opened. Funny story. I had finished the card and was so proud of myself that when I glued the ribbon on the back of the card, I almost had a heart attack when it didn't open. I took a breath, took it apart and then started over. All this an hour before the party!!!

Ceecee loved it!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #79

Last night hubby asked me for two birthday cards. I visited Taylor's blog cause everybody loves cupcakes!!!

So I made the same card with two subtle differences, the cupcakes tops and the color accents.

And it's a cloudy day today, I was hoping for sun, but if clouds are all hurricane Bill brings I'm okay with that!

Some of the supplies I used are Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist Blue Skies and English Ivy. atyou Spica Sky Blue and Garnet. DCWV Sweet paper stack. Maya Road Fresh Chipboard Cupcakes and I used Red Stickles and the cherries. The sentiment is a Stampendous set, but, unfortunately I have missed placed the package with it's title.

I made this weeks CPS 129 for some neighbors who had their Annual family and friends (looks like 12 from the trophy) Horse shoe tournament!!! What a blast we had!! I wanted to say Thanks for all the fun we had.

This piece of chip board is from Maya Road's Cupcakes. The cool part, I sprayed it with Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist, Blue Skies. This is way cool. It dries very fast and is all sparkly!!

The pattern paper is from Dream Street Papers, Everyday Celebrations - Make a Wish. The large letters are stamped with CTMH's Building Block Alphabet and the small letters are stamped with Studio G Alphabet Stamp set Series 1.

Man it's late, I'm late, this is late. Well we sat outside my daughter and I putting things together until the light was gone and then we brought out a lamp. Finally it was time for bed and I've bin putzing around. I love this CTMH paper packet "Animal Cookies" added some buttons a CTMH ribbon and it was done. No stampin' !?!?!?

I'm still working on my baby album so I thought I would just continue with the same sketch and paper pack!!!!

SAV Challenge #09

I've been away on vacation and HAD A BLAST!!! Just before I left it was my mother's birthday and I used this month's SAV challenge to hold her gift. As well I made a matching little card to fit inside. The box is from Lauren Meader. I had fun putting in together with my daughter and niece, they thought this was the coolest thing.

I made this box and card with one thing (person) in mind. I cased Ceecee's basket, cause I loved it so much. I didn't have any strawberry buttons or brads so I used some matchy red buttons. The two SU stamp sets I used are "Tart & Tangy" and "Define Your Life". Matching $ store ribbon and Voila. Mom loved it!

And here's a shot from Maine, we spent the whole time in the water. The local weather guy said that this past week was Maine's best week all summer!!! Man we were lucky!

I decided with this weeks CPS not only would I make a card but I would also make a scrapbook page. (It's at the bottom of this post).

This entire card (and page) was made with October Afternoon's "Duck's in Row" and coordinating bassil papers. The ribbon is SU's Certainly Celery.

The bling and buttons are craft room stash.

This page is for the scrapbook I will be giving to my daughter's teacher. Yup. I'm still working on that. At least it's getting done. I love this October Afternoon line so much I just want to keep using it.

Mojo Monday Week 97

It's sunny, it's hot and the locusts are chirping, But I still love snowmen. Instead of Christmas in July it's winter in July (actually rainy). I found this Stampavie "Rachelle Anne Miller" (Snowman) stamp last week and couldn't wait to use it.

So I added it to this weeks Mojo Monday.

I added a little pompom for fun to his hat. I hit the stash draw and pulled out a Chatter Box piece, Blizzard Swirls and Reminisce, Let it Snow. I used SU's Stampin' Write Brilliant Blue marker for the sentiment which is from SU's Cold Play and stamp set. I placed the sentiment into one of SU's Tags for All stamps. I used a Sky Blue AtyouSpica pen for high lights.

And my favorite pieces are the snowflake brads I stuck into buttons. All which were lying around the craft room.

These are the Copics I used. The numbers you cannot see on these copics are R20, B29, RV21.

Elodie in her Garden - CPS125

I loved making this card. It's started with Stampavie's SAV Challenge #08 – In the Garden. Then I combined it with this weeks CPS. I am new to Stampavie stamps and I love them. I don't know if you can tell but as I was outside taking some pics of the card and enjoying how Elodie's bonnet was casting a Shadow on her face, the card then blew away onto the (wet) grass. It now also sports water spots. Which actually blended into the card.

The Stamp is called Elodie in Her Garden. The paper I used is from CTMH, creative basics "Animal Cookies" White grosgrain ribbon and Clover Meadow ink both also from CTMH. The bling is from the $ store. I wanted to try something different with the coloring so I used my Prisma colors.

I love how busy this card is like the plant in the photo. I used Papertrey ink's stamp set "My Punny Valentine". The ink's I used are from CTMH Sweet Leaf, Watermelon and Vineyard Berry. SU's Very Vanilla ribbon.

It's suppose to be nice and sunny today and then five days of rain. So I'm playin' outside all day today, hope you are too.

I just spent two days helping my sister dig and plant a garden. I thought lets continue with flowers for Kristina's Color Inspiration.

I used SU's Fifth Avenue Floral set and the leaves are Su's Beaute da la Creation. The sentiment is from Paper Trey's Everyday Classics. I thought my ribbon was Saffron from SU but it turned out to be Very Vanilla. I used some AtyouSpica pens for detail.

It was my sister-in-laws birthday this past weekend and she loves home made cards. I got the this stamp set from SU "Fifth Avenue Floral" and I love it. I used kraft card stock for the card and ran a piece of velum through the Cuttlebug with SU's textures impressions Manhatten Flower. I did a test with an extra piece of velum and different adhesives so that it would not show through the velum, as you can see, it didn't work. Any advice on setting velum?

I cut the flower layers out while my daughter was a hockey practice and when I got home the whole card took FIVE MINUTES!! That never happens.

I got the picture just before the rain came.............. this is the STREET in front of our house. I did recede on the same day. Kids had a blast!

I've Discovered New Stamps

I was strolling through the local SBS and came across these beautiful stamps which I have heard about but had never scene. Well, I turned the stamp over and saw the website (www.stapavie.com) and went straight to the blog. They have this challenge, use a stampavie design, emboss, 3 flowers, one ribbon and two buttons. I wasn't sure how to lay the card out, so I this weeks chose Mojo Monday sketch.

I used a blender pen and CTMH ink's to color the stamped image. I also decorated the hat and ribbons with AtYouSpica pens in coordinating colors and tried really hard to get a great picture. The picture doesn't show that off to well.

So I hit the scrap drawer and this is how it turned out. I used Circut templates and SU's Urban West Rub On for the sentiment. The buttons and flowers were hanging out out in the scrap room and I thought I would just add some bling to the flowers.

It's suppose to be a sunny day today so I'm going out to enjoy it with the kids, cause more rain is comin' Saturday.

Going Fishing with an Elephant?

This card was inspired by Kristina Werner's Finally Friday card. I liked the way she just stamped directly onto the lined paper. The paper is by Luxe Designs "Simple Lined Lime"

I was in the local SBS yesterday and found this little guy by Rachelle Anne Miller from www.stampavie.com and had these colors in mind for Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #11. I've been running around all week and didn't think I would have time to do any challenges this week, but I got to combine two. This great sketch is CPS #123.

I colored this guy with Copic markers #C2, C4, T0, YG05, RV04 and RV21 and because I wanted a little more control I used SU's Stampin' Write Real Red. I then finshed it up with a Atyou Spica Clear pen. I love these babies!!!

It's raining....... makes it really difficult to take pictures in "the Cave" as hubby likes to call it. Since it took me a week to make this card, I just wanted to get it done. It's actually for my daughters first grade teacher. The most wonderful teacher I have ever met. I am making her a baby album for her son as a thank you gift, so we will be seeing her in a couple of weeks!!! The last day of school was heart breaking, she will not be coming back...... (sniff) and she was bawling, as were her students. It was very sad.

I love this sketch. The paper is from Imaginisce, "Teacher's Pet" My New Pencil Box and (No) Passing Notes. I just love it! I used SU's Rose Red and the star was left over for a Christmas Project. Inside it will say STAR, because she really was.

What another great sketch from CPS!! I just love this October Afternoon Splish Splash sheet. I made another card with the same materials yesterday. There's another baby coming in a few months so I thought I would be ahead of myself. That never happens.

The stamp I used is not a 2Red Banana's but it is a bird and I thought I would keep with the theme. He comes from SU's "Wagon Full of Fun" I also used SU's Certainly Celery ribbon. The rub on and pattern paper is also from October afternoon. I think they are on the top of my favorite list!!!!!

How lucky for me that this weeks Mojo Monday sketch was just perfect for a baby card I needed to make!

As soon as I came across this October Afternoon paper (ducks in a row)I knew exactly what I was going to do. This card practically made itself. I used SU's Certainly celery ribbon and card stock. The large duck is from SU's "Wagon full of Fun". I also picked up the rub's which went with the October afternoon sheet of paper and used a little rub on, on the oval punch. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's "Everyday's Classics".

And the stars, which I'm still learning to use.

Color Inspiration #55

WOW! What a day, first I was on my blog and realised there was a lot of activity, I had a sneaky feeling......so I jumped over to Kristina Werner's blog and I WAS PICKED FOR LAST WEEKS TOP 10!!!! Yahoo!!!

Then, as I was still on Kristina's blog she posted this weeks color inspiration. WOW!! again, these colors threw me man. I even called Ceecee for some advice.

Then I remembered I need a boy's birthday card for tomorrow for my daughter to bring to a party. "Bonne Fete" means Happy Birthday. I remembered I had this Bella robot. Robot's are rusty, right?

The rest just came together. I used CTMH's ink, Grey Wool and Autumn Terracotta and SU's More Mustard (which BTW is one of my favorite colors). I stamped the border with CTMH's Boutique Borders and the sentiment is also CTMH's Thoughtful Script in French. The Robot is from Stampin Bella he is Kilo Watt.

And now my craft room is upside down..........

Raspberry Suite Challenge #9

I didn't think I would have time to do this weeks Raspberry Suite Challenge. But when I went to check the mail today, I had received a box and in the box was a stamp set from Paper Trey Ink. A gift. For a valued customer for their 2nd anniversary. I had to use it right away. It's called "Everyday Classics"

I stamped the flower in CTMH's Sweet leaf ink onto the same color paper and the with Versa Mark and black embossing powder stamped the flower and the sentiment. I've been stuck in the past without a sympathy card and with no pink in sight I went with the sympathy sentiment. The black brads represent the chaos when you lose a loved one.

I had fun making this card for Kristina's inspiration. I liked each monster the same and after I stamped them in the different colors they looked like a bunch of friends sitting together. The stamp set is from October Afternoon "Night Light"

The friends stamp is from SU's "Time Well Spent". I used CTMH's Ocean, Breeze and Citrus leaf and SU'd Pumpkin pie.

Make lemonade

This weeks Mojo Monday is a really cute sketch. This card literally took me five minutes. This card was inspired by a 12x12 sheet I picked up at the local SBS by Anna Griffin. Of course I had to use SU's Tart & Tangy set. The ink's are CTMH's Sunny Yellow and Citrus Leaf. I had to go with some green cause I love lime too.

It seems lately there has been alot of lemons going on around here. But of a positive note I feel I have to share with you Canadian's a Canadian Web site www.scrappingreatdeals.com (Ceecee shared with me). Not only did she have a special where you didn't pay shipping, I got the box and to my surprise was an extra gift and some Worther Candies. How personal is that!!! Great experience!! Thanks Sheila.

Wow did this week get away from me!! Everybody's soccer started this week (mine too) and I worked all week. So, to make a long story short I've got this box of fishing flies I am determined to use. I used Taylor's sketch and the fly with some paper hanging around and this is what I came up with.

MOJO Monday Week 88

Yay, another sunny card picture day!! But man is it windy!!

So my friend at work Dana (pronounced Donna) asked me to help her make some place settings and table numbers for one of her friends weddings next weekend. So with out asking her I decided to make a wedding card out of all the scraps (will post stuff when done). I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

She bought everything herself, most of it at "Omer Des serres" Embossed card stock and some iridescent coral-orange card stock. Then she picked up some orange glitter at the $ store.

I stamped the ring from Inkadinkado's Mr and Mrs set and used SU's Groovy Guava, great match!

I embossed the bottom piece with a cuttle bug embossing folder. Used some plain white ribbon and this is what I got. I hope she likes it!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #7

For this weeks Raspberry Suite color challenge I decided to use something I have never used before. I love these colors, so I had to make something!!

You really can't tell from this photo but I used Crackle Accent on the flowers. It's seems that in the 3 hours later after taking these photo's the Crackle has crackled some more and now looks really good!!

I also used SU's "Inspired by Nature". I sprayed some Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist "English Ivy" on a piece of plastic and ran the stamp of the grass through the Glimmer mist so the grass has a sheen to it.

Today is one of my brother's birthday's. I thought Kristina's color inspiration was great for a guy. I definitely got this idea from visiting Kristina's website (frequently). She has a style all of her own. So I thought I would give it a try, I certainly don't have her and writing....

I love taking pictures in the sun! Don't these colors look fantastic in natural light!? I have here three Creative Memories, Basic fine-tip, journaling pens. Three Copic markers B29, Y15 and R29, which were amazing to use on the Thickers, I have three different sets here.

I just added a ribbon and some $ store bling and it was done!! Yah me, two cards in one day! (previous post).

I LOVE taking pictures int he sun!! Today I was home, catching up on chores, I worked at the school this AM and had the chance to make this card. Last week I combined all kinds of challenges , this week I'm just going to do the challenges on their own. This weeks sketch is from Taylored Expressions.

I knew which paper pack I was going to use today. While I was flipping through the pack this piece in three sections jumped at me. I just went from there, every layer just added itself. The paper pack is from DCWV "The Sweet Stack". I also used SU's rub ons "Love & Happiness". No ink! I then added the little brown bling which I picked up at the $ store awhile back.

Mojo Monday Week 87

Oh, I've been thinking about using flies on this card for awhile now. I had bought these flies in the $ store last year and new I would use them on a card one day. So while I tended the gardens all day I had time to think about what I was going to do with them. I also new I had a 12x12 piece of cork, some where in the craft home. I found it and it wouldn't fit into my Creative Memories circle punch. But SU"s 1 3/8 " circle punch did the job.

The stamp set I used for this weeks MOJO Monday is CTMH's "Gone Fishing" I added some bling and used an "AtyouSpica" on the fishing rod.

The flies close up.... I just stuck the hook directly into the cork.

This one was fun to make!!!

TECC 68 and Raspberry Suite Color Challenge Week 6

Okay, thanks to Dawn, 'cause these are some colors I would have never put together. But I tried just the same. The coral is alot nicer in person than in this pic. I just can't get my lighting right. It doesn't help that I always take these pics at night and have one teeny tiny lamp!!

I also used Taylor's sketch with these colors. I love this sketch I may have to use it again!! Thanks to Taylor!!

Finally, I ended up using SU's Bloomin' Beautiful. It's my 'old reliable. I embossed on the white circle and had a really hard time seeing the versa mark. Again, teeny tiny lamp.

I've got American Idol on in craft room and KISS just came on with Adam, it was way cool!! They were the first concert I ever saw! I was pretty young, so I'm not aging myself. Heehee.

OH, and last night I watched Glee, new show on FOX, I LOVED IT!!! It was a cross between Arrested Development meets Friday night Lights and High School Musical

Bella's Dad LOL!!

As I was deciding how I was going to make this weeks color inspiration I was checking out this weeks CPS blog and this weeks sponsor is Stamping Bella, I don't have many Bella stamps but I do have Fixafella.

And then I challenged myself to make this a masculine card or Father's day card. My husband spent the whole long weekend fixing his car. I thought Fixafella was very appropriate this week.

When I finished the card I thought it lacked alot of luster and it just needed something. I found a box of Designer Trading Cards by Nancie Rowe Janitz. I saw these at the local SBS and picked them up. Since my own Fixafella makes lots of lists, I like the look the list gave to the card.

I also used an argyle stamp from Studio g, Clear Stamps from Hampton Art. I was very disappointed in this stamp. I tried many different ways to get this stamp to stamp clean and crisp but was just not able to make it work to my liking. I picked up a few of these sets, I'm hoping they are not all like this one. Anyone else have this problem?

Mojo Monday Week 86

I know it's Thursday but I've been trying to make this card since Monday!!! What a week. Well It's done.

I just started out by coloring in this Thomas Kinkade stamp, which I love, I used a blended pen and the covers of my ink pads. I used a Kraft card and the rest of the paper is from Chatter box.

I raised the pics using some left over foam from my SU stamp set's. Hope you like it. It's the first of the father's day series I'm gonna' do.

Another first today. Yesterday, mother's day, I wanted to spend the day in my craft room. But since, it rained all day. We did alot of spring inside cleaning and I had the Mather's day BBQ at my house and the whole family came. It turned out great.

I got the inspiration for this card at a recently discovered blog. Lauren Meader, this girl is talented. I also discovered that I haven't made anything in these colors!!!

Another thing I discovered is "Flower Soft". You ask me it looks like somebody cut up a whole bunch of sponges the color is "Fuchsia". The paper I just pulled out of the mixed up draw and just kept addin' stuff 'till it looked ok!?! LOL

Oh and Copic markers on the vase. They are my new love.

Gee, I haven't done one of these in awhile (CPS). I told myself this week I wanted to make a card every night. Yah, you can see how that worked out for me. Well I tried. This sketch was actual a hard one for me. I have no idea why either....

The other thing I told myself, I was going to do, is to use things I haven't used in a long time!!! That, I did!

I used a Martha Stewart paper pack. It's called "elegant paper pad". I also used SU's Fun Pun stamp set. The ink is CHTM's chocolate.

Color Inspiration #51

Check out this weeks color Inspiration #51. No stamping and I would have finished sooner if LOST wasn't on. So I saw this women make these placks on Martha Stewart last week for her sons room and as I was watching I could only think "What a great card that would make." So I waited for Kristina's next inspiration and went to town.

The template is on Martha's link. I got the More Mustard paper out of SU's Patterns Pack and the Chocolate paper from SU also. I looked for it in the catalog, but couldn't find it. I've had it for awhile and the Rose Red is from another SU paper pack which, of course, I don't have the name for either. I gently inked the edges of all the mustard paper with mustard ink. I also used a cuttle bug die for some texture.

Mojo Monday Week 85

Hey, two firsts for me today. I have often seen Mojo Mondays done on other blogs. So I decided this was the week I would play along too. The other first are the colors I chose for the card. My prize possession are my, no longer made Oakley Fire Iridium sun glasses (I tried finding a photo on-line, no luck, I'll have to take a pic of mine) anyway, their orangyish.

The paper pack I used was DCWV Citrus Stack and SU's Bloomin Beautiful and any orange, yellow or reddish marker I could find. I also used some yellow stickles for the center of the flowers.

Ever have a day when you wake up, bring your coffee into the craft room and a hundred ideas just come pouring into your head so fast that you can't keep up with them? See, that seldom happens to me but today was one of those mornings.

I need a birthday card for my new boss, who is a sweetheart and my co-worker was going to do the shopping I thought I would make the shopping card. I saw Taylor's sketch and thought it was perfect.

I love the colors of Dawn's color challenge. But. One thing I learned from this color challenge is that I really don't have any papers in AQUA!!! And I LOVE this color!!!! Guess I'll have to just the local SB Store!!!! Ahh the hard ship.... hee hee.

So in making this card, I used Paper Trey Ink's "Chocolate Remix". This is one of my favorite stamp set's from CTMH, "Let's Shop" I have used her a few times before on challenges. The ribbon is one of those which I had laying around. The bling on the top left hand side is actually a pale, pale blue but actually turned out as a deeper blue in the photo.

I can't believe it's number 50!! I think I missed 2. Only because I was away on vacation. First let me say thanks Kristina Werner. You truly are an inspiration to me! I love your challenges and your blog. Always forcing us outside the box. And you've taught me tons of things about blogging.

Cheers to you. And another 50!!

This card took me a week to make. It was a crazy week! Tons of outside work to do. Hubby is always working overtime. My son had a minor surgery. He is fine, he had a growth removed from his head which he was born with and could cause some problems when he is older, so they just took it out! Phew. All is good now!

I used CTMH's March Stamp of the Month "Butterfly Wings" I was noticing a trend with butterflies lately and thought I would give it a try. I found the colors for this Color Inspiration a challenge. The color's I used were SU's Rose Red and CTMH's Brown Bag, Ocean and Sunny Yellow with matching paper's. The butterfly is so busy I kept the back ground simple and didn't stamp a sentiment, cause I don't know what this card says. I may need another week to figure that out.

Victoria's Birthday Card

It was my niece's birthday this weekend. And she is a little princess (sometimes) :)

So I decided to show my daughter (seven year old) how to use Copic markers. What a great time we had. She was so amazed at what the markers could do. She listened to all of my instructions. She likes to press hard on her markers so I was a little worried. But she performed like a pro.

I have to say this was my first project with my Copic's and I'm hooked!! The stamp set is from EK Success "Disney" the idea for the crown came from the Hero Art blog. Now I need more Copic's.............................

Heavy Rocks and Sore Shoulders

So up until 2 weeks ago my sister's and our house were separated by a field out front to left of us. Now there is a house there and we cannot cross in front anymore. I think it's about a 2 kilometer drive around. Since the woods run behind our house my husband decided to clear a path. This first picture shows what it looked like before.

He cleared away some bushes and small trees and left everything else. We are very mindful of nature. It's a really pretty walk now.

This is the first hill which was left over from the house they put in and the edge of the forest and very dangerous because it has loose rocks. So my son and I decided to make stairs from rocks laying around and some old ashphalt pieces we found.

This is the second part of the path my hubby cleared. Now, you see the rocks, they were everywhere so I started lining the path. This is the reason for the sore shoulder. I moved most of these. Then hubby saw what I was doing and decided to give me a hand. I told him Martha (Stewart) would be proud!

This is the second hill with it's new steps. Hubby did this one. It is also nicer than mine.

The reverse look. I just love it! It will make for a beautiful path in the summer. We're just going to have to learn to out run the mosquitoes.

Check this big (dead) tree they cut down it's just layin' there. They probably didn't even need to cute it down in the first place. The trees behind our house were slated to be cut down to make way for drainage or something but I threw such a stink, they have decided to leave them alone. Next week I'll be picking out the garbage. Last week we had ducks in there and yesterday my son discovered a gopher and it's home.

Color Inspiration Challenge #49

Happy Easter. I got a little carried away this week for Kristina's challenge!! I made 3 cards!! I've been trying to use up scraps, hence the multiple cards.

For this one I used CTMH's "Easter Eggs". I black embossed each egg onto SU's rose red, pacific point and kiwi kiss paper.

Earlier this week I was using Penny Black's "Fresh New Day" set and just started playing around with the inks and a blender pen. (I'll post the other cards tomorrow, running out the door to the in-laws)

This card was inspired by my son's constant playing with a rubik cube. I told him I used to solve it in under a minute and a half when i was his age and now he's trying to beat me!!! And he will!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 3

Check out this card I made for my daughter's teacher. This is the first time I'm participating in Dawn's challenge. I must also confess that this idea is not mine. I saw this card at Christmas time and thought these bunnies needed to do the same thing.

My daughter wants to keep it for herself. Every time I make a card she wants it!!! This bunny is attached only with a brad so it can swivel.

Now for the close up's.

The set is from Stampendous and I just love it.

Color's a little off but it's a very light pink.

The color's I used are SU's Pink Piroutte, Groovy Guava and Ruby Red. I used the reinkers and a blender pen to shade. A little tip. I didn't have an acrylic block big enough for the bunny so I used my C template for my Cuttlebug! I worked great!

This weeks CPS card was a fun one. I love this SU stamp set. "A Good Egg". The paper I used is Paper Salon "Blossom". It's raining her today, all day, and I think I'll be posting alot today.

Though I will be leaving in a few minutes to go to my daugther's hockey game. They are in a tournament and have made it into the finals. I'll let you know the outcome.

Last night I went to see "The Fast and the Furious" with Ceecee. It was great if you love fast cars and things blowing up! Then we spent an hour in her craft room, just nerding it up on the computer. I wake up this morning all inspired and Kristina's Color Inspiration was up and I went to town.

This card is all about circles. I used SU's "So Cool" stamp set. The Paper is by BoBunny "A gift of Love" I opened up the brad box and pulled out odds and ends.

I didn't have my computer ALL weekend, my husband needed my monitor for work, man, talk about withdrawal!!!!! I did get a chance to take part in Taylor's challenge tonight, after hockey practice. Yes, it was one of those weekends.

Recipe: For this card I used CTMH's You're so Hip, stamp set. The paper is from Imaginisce, Color Me Happy. The flower is a CTMH and the button I have them in a box and they've been there for years.

I love Martha Stewart. I found these punches at Walmart. They were sitting on the table with all the left overs from the previous post and I couldn't help but start punching out bunnies and chicks.

The rabbits remind me of chocolate bunnies!!

And now for the chicks, they are even more cute! The stamped sentiment is from SU's "A Good Egg"

The ribbon is from CTMH it's chocolate chip.

Color Inspiration #47

This weeks colors for the color inspiration are right up my alley, I love earth tons. So what goes best with earth tons, things from nature. Okay, this is me just being silly!!!

I laid this card down to show the ribbon. While it's hard to tell from a front shot that this ribbon pops up. This picture does not do it justice. I also popped up the birds to give them depth.

Recipe: So this is what I did. I stamped the bird (SU's Always) in chocolate chip and cut him out and then stamper him again in CTMH's Buttercup (it's the closest to so saffron) and then ran it threw the Cuttlebug with a Spellbinders "Nested Bird" die. Then aligned the pattern. The ribbon is SU's tangerine Tango, Grosgrain ribbon Striped.

I was in the check out line and Chapters (local book store, I think it's Borders in the US, not sure) there it was staring at me!! and now check out the card I made with this paper pack for TECC#60.

Recipe: I used the DCVW paper pack and a couple of brads I had and inked the scalloped edge with CTMH's Blush.

You know, like all of you I love Kristina's color inspiration challenges, I think they're my favorite. So, like you I always try to come up with an original design. This card was inspired by someone else's card. Though it was just a partial card if you go to this link and check out the last picture of the window frame you'll see what I mean. I saw this glittered window frame and it just stayed with me. I will always give credit were credit is do! Thanks for the inspiration Melissa Philips!! And Ceecee, my other inspiration, for giving me this stamp set, which I just LOVE!!!

Recipe; I used SU's Window Dressing. The black paper which I embossed with my cuttle bug "Dots" is the coolest paper. It's black with a pick core!! This is the web site from the bottom of the sheet www.coredinations.com. I also used Martha Stewart's "Crystal Coarse"from the "Arctic Glitter Set" and I just stuck a regular pin with a pink top on it, through the knot of the ribbon.

It took me all week to finish this card. Every time I wanted to do something I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Like embossing powder. I went to the local scrapbook store the only pink they had was a baby pink, which I already own. I checked in SU's catalog and CTMH's catalog. CTMH only has baby pink. Anybody know who makes different shades of pink for embossing powder?

For this CPS challenge I embossing the vines with CTMH's clover meadow embossing powder. The stamp set I used is CTMH's From Me to You. I used a masking technique I learned at Ceecee's at one of our group meetings. I stamped with StazOn on glossy paper. You use a white crayon were you don't want any ink. I used CTMH's Sunflower, Baby Pink and Hollyhock applied with a sponge and when I was done I just whipped the crayon away with a piece of paper towel.

This weeks color inspiration rocks!! I've been meaning to make a card for the woman (Carol) who put together women's over 35 soccer league. I've already registered for this year. So I will be seeing her soon. And since I had this soccer stamp set I thought she would get a kick out it.

My Hockey Team and Backyard Fun Con't

This is my hockey team, yup, even my daughter plays. Kraft was having a contest for HockeyVille. I think it could have been played in my back yard. Dad spent tons of hours making this ice rink and as of yesterday it was still skateable. We had snow, rain and plus 2 today so we'll see tomorrow if it needs some more work.

Some Backyard Winter Fun

These three had a play date this Friday and had a BLAST. They played so much and laughed so much, not one argument of even little disagreement!!!! I enjoyed just listening to them.

This is the first time any of them could stand and see over a six foot fence by themselves without some help from one of us!!! They were fascinated with the bunny tracks.

Along with the skating rink dad built in the back yard he also built a toboggan run into the woods. And, yes, that is me laughing all the way down!!!

Just Something to Share

I've been meaning to post this blog since December. Things just got away from me. So, this was my son's 13th birthday cake. We had been shopping and while I was there I took him to the bakery counter to get on idea of what he wanted. We saw a brownie cake for $30.00, which looked just LIKE THIS!! But I made this one for $5.00!! It is two boxes on Betty Crocker Brownie mixes. I baked them in two separate pans. One circle and one square. I very carefully turned the round one out on a cake server. I cut the square one into smaller squares and cut one corner off so it would stand with one point upwards, I placed them in a circle on top of the base. I then threw the left over bits into the center. I took the two packers of icing which came in the box and drizzled the icing decoratively all over. Then I grabbed some Caramel sauce and drizzled some of that all over.

This second recipe I search Martha Stewarts web site for a Trifle recipe. I usually make Trifle for Christmas but it's always the same one. This a version of Martha's Banana Split Trifle. This is so easy and was a HUGH hit. I'm not a fan of banana's which surprised me even more. So I made it again two weeks ago for my daughters birthday. This is just Saralee's pound cake, blueberries, two bananas, whip creme, one box of vanilla pudding and Hersy's chocolate sauce on top.

CPS 100!!

It's all about the details today. I don't think I've made a card with so much detail. My hubby's cousin had his first baby last week so I needed a baby card and really didn't know what I wanted to do. This is what I came up with. I was looking through SU's Fall-Winter 2008 catalogue, on page 75 there's a great layout, I don't have the stamp set but easily replicated the boat with a circle and square punch.
Recipe: Those of who follow know I'm a fan of the SCRAP Draw!!! I gathered scraps suited to each other. Then used Circut folders for the embossing details. The mini brads I picked up at the $ store and the ink is CTMH's Brown Bag.

Since we're having a snow storm today I thought I would make soup for after school and my lunch. Th recipe is from Martha's Mag. Feb issue. I did forget to buy ham last night when I ran to the grocery store and I think next time I'll use yellow peas (after this past weeks ordeal with a seven year old and the flu and me being covered in it). It's actually pretty good, especially with the fresh herbs.
On a side note last Friday night we went to visit Nick and Rima who have gutted their triplex and have to be out of their house April 1st!!! Yikes. I always try to bring something special and hubby asked me to make a dessert. I saw Carni Wilson make these and I kid you not "Carnie's Make your Belly Pudgy Brownie's" What a hit, they were great. In our house that means a "Do over"

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Better late than never. I hope everyone has a great New Year. I know I've been MIA....but, with Christmas which was crazy busy as we all know. The day after Christmas at 5:00AM we drove to Fort-Lauderdale with the kids. 26 hour drive, door-to-door. We played on the beach for a week and had a great drive back. Except for the speeding ticket my husband got just outside of Jacksonville FL.

I missed participating in Kristina's color inspirations. This one was tuff. After Christmas, the trip to Florida, back to school, unpacking, taking down the Christmas decorations and planning my daughters 7th birthday party for tomorrow......I lost my mojo :( It took me three days to come up with this card!!! And I'm still looking for that mojo thingy.

Hey, this weeks color inspiration was a hoot, since I decided I was going to make another Christmas card. Yep, I'm behind!! So many people, so many cards..........

Any hoo, I love this little man so I worked around him. I'm playing catch up this week. Both kids had dentists appointments Monday, down town and my son had his braces taken off on Tuesday. Recipe time, this is what I used on this guy. The Ginger bread man is from "Penny Black 2003" The stamp in the circle is SU's Deer Friends. Pattern paper is from "Chatterbox" (I love Chatterbox paper). Ink's SU's Baja Breeze. The rest of the ink and paper is from CTMH. The colors are White Daisy, Buttercup, Cocoa and Chocolate.

I almost forgot, I was over at The Paper Landscaper and saw this sketch challenge she did and I thought it would be great for this little guy!!

Color Inspiration #34

This weeks Color Inspiration by Kristina Werner has great colors. Pale plum, perfect plum, bordering blue, sage shadow and certainly celery. The news of the week is that I got laid off from my job. This is one of the reasons why I made two cards I had a little more time. But, with all the snow we got last night and today, I spent most of the morning shoveling out. And I kid you knot 2 and half inches of ice on the car!!!

I love this snowman, these colors were perfect for him, he comes from CTMH "All Decked Out". Since the only SU color I had was Bordering Blue, I used CTMH's Amethyst, Pansy Purple, Sweet Leaf and Twilght. The riboon is CTMH's Indian Corn Blue. I also used a silver Gelly Roll pen to outline all the swirls.
This next card sketch comes from CPS number 94!!! I used all of the same CTMH ink's and the stamp set is SU's Flaky friends, I love these guys!! I outlined the waves with Stickles.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #44

This weekend I made cards. I went to Ceecee's for an all day card workshop. Today I got to finish this card for TECC44.

They are not cupcakes.....but I thought ornaments would do.

I used SU's Riding hood red ink. CTMH's Sweet Leaf inkand Brown Bag for the inked edges. A cuddlebug ornament embossing plaque. The card stock is also from CTMH. The pattern paper was from the scrap draw, I'm sorry I can't whom it belongs to.

This week's color inspiration was a challenge I was determined to make a Christmas card. I finally got is done. I was stuck on doing something with ornaments since the last challenge. This is what I came up with AND no hot linking for me. Hope ya like.

Color Inspiration #32 a Two-ffer

Okay I have to admit I didn't like this card when I finished but the kids did. I showed it to my husband and he said, "Ya know it's missing something, why don't you throw a brad on it." A brad, are you kidding me, I can't believe he even knew what a brad was!!!! And the worst part was, he was right!!! I said nothing......but, "No, something sparkly!!" So my silver deer got a ruby nose. NOW, I like the card. I can't believe I didn't think of it in the first place.

This weeks Kristina Werner's colors are awesome. The first thing I thought of was to do something with ornament's. Well I was not the only one with that idea. So I nixed that idea and went back to the drawing board. Kristina mentioned that we should use some sort of gold or silver. A few years back the local dollar store had paper packs with different shades of silver in one kit. Gold, green and red. So I have one of each. The stencil is a CTMH. I've had that one for a few years. The red back ground is shimmer Bassil and I used Riding hood red for the trim. Oh and the ribbon is SU's Very Vanilla. The hardware.....from the dollar store, I've that for awhile too.

Here's where the two-ffer comes in. I used CPS 92 for this challenge.

Color Inspiration #31

WOW, Color inspiration number 31!! These colors were a challenge for me and my snow man. But I think he turned out ok! This clear stamp set is from Inkadinkado. I just like saying that, rolls of the tongue! I embossed the scarf and hat in purple and used a little watercolor blue just to make my man POP! I learned that from Kristina. I think it was this month. Then I used a snowflake Die from cuttlebug. And SU ribbon. I also stamped his nose in Pumpkin pie and cut it out.

When Bad Days Turn into Good Days

Yesterday I woke up puking my guts out with, probably the worst migraine I've had in a year!! When I started to feel a little better I logged onto the 'puter to visit Kristina Werner site. Imagine my surprise when I saw my own card in the top 20!!! I did a silent happy dance all around the living room. My yesterday 12 year old and today 13 year old thought I was nuts!!!

So here we are today, my baby is thirteen and I've had over a thousand hits on this blog since yesterday!!! WOW!! And I feel great! Yesterday, not so much! We're havin' everybody here for supper. We were suppose to have a street hockey game with everybody but it's pouring outside!!!

So it'll be playstation tournament's!!! I'll post some picks of my 13 YEAR OLD (OMG) tomorrow.

I just needed a minute to vent, 13 years, fly's by ya!!!!!!!

CPS #90

So I was at Ceecee's last Friday night and we did some coloring techniques with some PrismaColors and Watercolor crayons. This little one was my practice sheet. I just couldn't not use it!!!! What a better way than in a CPS challenge. We are also going to see Twilight in two weeks and I just can't wait!!! Loved those books.

I think the lighting is better this week.

Color Inspiration #30

These colors in this week color inspiration are great, but they just don't scream snowmen to me, they scream CHRISTMAS TREES!!! This CTMH set is called Evergreen. I love it! I wanted to make the trees pop, with the colors being subdued, I popped the background instead.

I'm working on lighting. Trying to get my hands on another lamp.

Weekend Sketch Challenge #65

It's weekend sketch challenge time again. The best part about doing these challenges is that my work table faces the TV and I get to watch Brett play for 3 hours!!!!! Today, the JETS are winning 47points!!! The Rams have 3! I know. The hard part about doing these challenges is that the computer is opposite the TV. So every time Brett is up I have to stop typing. This makes for long blog times.... All is good. Brett looks like he is having a ball on the field today. The only thing that could have made this game better is if I was there. Like in October. I keep hinting I want to go back. But, hubby is not biting. Okay, I can ramble about football all day.

This sketch is different from anything I've tried before But it was fun to do. I needed a masculine card for my dad and this is what I came up with. Don't you love it when you open the scrap draw and all the right pieces are just staring at you?? Most of this paper is from Chatter Box. I love their stuff!!! SU's Pun Fun. I used Staz On Olive Green Ink and Watercolor pencils.

I GOT CUPCAKES!!!!! I needed a birthday card and what better way to say birthdays than with cupcakes???? And TECC? I found 6 Jolee's Boutique Dimensional Stickers (EK Success). I also used the rest of a DCWV sheet I had and the rest of the pink brads. Here's what I came up with. Again the lighting...I know. I need another light. I'm working on getting one.

I've got two paper packs which I've had for a couple of years and I promised myself I would use them this Christmas. This one was a gift I got from my mom, I think it's from Avon. I was a little stumped with the sketch (CPS89) but only because I was tired....I think?

I was happy with the end result.

Color Inspiration #29

Oh my, this was a challenge. This weeks color inspiration #29 has great colors. Since I'm on my snowman theme, I really did try to apply these colors but I just couldn't do it. These colors reminded me of dried flowers. So I used the next best thing. Stamps. I used SU's Bloomin' Beautiful and a water brush with this weeks colors.

I'm still working on lighting......

Halloween Card, Just for fun

This year the theme in the grade one class is PIRATES!!! I know.....everything revolves around Pirates. So, it just seems obvious that I would make this card for my daughters class. Turns out is was a hit!!

Well I think I'm very late on this. I don't know why I thought I had until tomorrow??? I know a new CPS sketch comes out ever Sunday. To much to do in not enough time, I guess. But I finished it. This idea came from something I saw on Debbie Olsen's blog. I loved the idea and I had some CTMH Scultping Foam. Never used it, so I gave it a shot. It was very daunting at first , then I didn't know how long it would take to try. When I decided it was finally dry I painted it with LuminArte H2O's. But the funny thing about this stuff is that it actually feels like foam when it dry's. I expected it to get hard. I'm rambling. I wanted to use this tinsel red thread I've had forever. It was great but it kept getting stuck in the machine. See, this is why I'm late.
